Make Osun Proud, Mrs. Aregbesola Tasks Children
Wife of the Governor, State of Osun, Mrs Sherifat Aregbesola has called on children and students in the State to reciprocate the efforts of the State Government on the Reform of Education in the State by excelling in their Examinations.
Mrs Aregbesola gave this advise at a children party to mark the Eid el Kabir festival in Osogbo at the weekend
According to her, the State Government has taken the welfare of children and youths in the State as a major priority which would be pursued resolutely in order to enhance their standard of living.
She said ” Myself and my husband consider children as vital pillars upon which our state stand. Our ceremony here is very important in order to refresh in our minds the virtues that are necessary for our State to move forward.
“We need to train our children along the path of love for one another, unity within the society and tolerance of each other’s opinion at all times.
“When this administration was inaugurated, our Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, promised an improved quality of life for our children. We can all collectively attest to the fulfilment of the promise in various ways.
“The administration has been resolutely committed to quality health delivery program just as it is pursuing the free quality education program with unprecedented fervour. A number of multi-national development organisations have been very forthright in commending the development programs of this administration. This is an indication that our people are better off now than before this administration came in.
“To our children and youths, this administration, considers your welfare a major priority and it is unapologetically committed to this. I urge you to face your studies now that a new and modern learning environment is being put in place in our schools. We count on you to make the State proud.
“We should continue to support the programs and policies of the State Government as one family. I want all of us, especially the parents to keep in mind the lessons of the Eid el Kabir, which is sacrifice in love.
“We must love one another in our state. We must always put the love of Allah first and in all things, remember that Allah wants us to love one another in a way that we shall do only those things that enhance life.
“I call on our parents to foster in our children the virtues and ethical teachings that will make them shun all forms of vices and criminal behaviour that threatens the society.
Our schools authorities in the State are also called upon to intensify their efforts at inculcating in our children, effective civic education that would make them see one another as brothers and sisters irrespective of faith, sex and background. This would lead to a total rebirth and transformation of our race which our leaders have been working tirelessly on.
