Osun Speaker Tasks Traditional Rulers On Security

Mr Najeem Salaam, the Speaker, Osun State House of Assembly, on Monday, urged traditional rulers in the state to ensure peaceful co-existence in their communities.
Salaam made the call when he received traditional rulers from Ejigbo Local Government Area of the state who paid him a courtesy visit in Osogbo. He urged the monarchs to be security-conscious as the governorship election in the state approaches.
The speaker, who commended the traditional rulers for their cooperation with the government, said their role in ensuring peace was paramount to the development of the state. He also urged the royal fathers to give useful information to the police on happenings in their communities.
He said “the gubernatorial election is nearer and hence there is need for you to be security-conscious in your communities. You know the communities better than anyone and that is why you must cooperate with government in ensuring peace in the state. I also want to urge you to always give useful information to the police whenever you suspect any strange things in your communities.”
Oba Kamil Ajadi, who responded on behalf of the monarchs, assured the speaker of their support. Ajadi said the traditional rulers would continue to ensure peaceful co-existence in their domains.
