YULETIDE: Demands For Goods And Service On The Rise In Osun, Says Business Owners
As the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ draws nearer throughout the world, business owners in the State of Osun on have continued to experience an upsurge in patronage of their goods and services, just as the price of goods have gone up.
Some of the outlets visited by Bioreports indicated that majority of business owners have been recording huge patronage which has led to an increase in the price of goods and services.
When Bioreports visited Moniade Nifaji Shopping Complex, located along Olaiya Junction in Osogbo, the state capital, Mrs Rose Ojeme a shop owner at the mall said there have been an increase in the demand for clothings and other items since the beginning of December.
Ojeme said customers patronage had really taken a new dimension, as people from different location in the state, kept trooping to the shopping mall, to do their shopping for Christmas and New Year.
For Sunday Emmanuel , a cloth seller at the Igbona Market, many shop owners have embarked on promotion to woo customers and boost patronage.
Emmanuel observed that people considered this period as a time to buy a lot of items as gifts to their loved ones. ”I sell trousers for at least N1500 per one, but this festive era makes me to increase the price to N1800 and also give out promo items to my loyal customers to thank them for their patronage.” he said.
Mr Uche Ikechukwu , an attendant with Uncle Joe Electronics Store located at Igbona area said there has been an increase in the numbers of customers of household items.
Ikechukwu admitted the influx of customers at the shop was normal and that they usually plan ahead to be able to cope with the huge traffic and meet customers expectations during this festive period.
