
Osun Partners FRSC In Defensive Driving
Osun State Ambulance Service Agency has partnered the Federal Road Safety Corps in the training of its drivers on defensive driving.
The General Manager of the agency, Dr. Adeleke Akinloye, said this while speaking with journalists in Osogbo on Tuesday.
Akinloye stated that O’Ambulance was training its drivers so that they would not endanger themselves and pose danger to other road users while on rescue work.
He said that the agency was also collaborating with security agencies to ensure that rescue work at night did not pose danger to paramedics.
According to him, the agency had rescued 3,840 victims in the past one year since it was established.
The general manager said that the Osun Ambulance Service Agency had the highest the number of ambulances of 50, saying that the state which came second had 25 ambulances.
He said, “FRSC has been a good partner in training our paramedics in defensive driving techniques, highway codes and others. O’ Ambulance also works in partnership with Osun State Emergency Agency. The security agents in the state always provide security for our ambulances and security cover for our paramedics especially during night duties.
“We had more than 21,352 invitations/emergency calls over the last 12 months and over 3,840 patients have been successfully rescued and taken to different health facilities in the state.”
