_DSC5545As the very much-anticipated August 9 governorship election in the State of Osun draws closer, the campaign heroics of His Excellency, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, the incumbent governor and flag bearer of the APC at the elections, has not gone unnoticed.
The campaign train of the Governor recently stopped by the gateway town of Ikire, and received a very massive warm welcome by the people of the town, which generated a huge media buzz with pictures of the large ecstatic crowd in full glare.
Pictures of the Ikire campaign train have made their way to various newspapers and social media platforms, drawing comments from several people. One of such people is Fubura Tam David-West.

“When someone, acting under the mythology of the so-called Rigged Nigerian Election screams that a politician has been “imposed” on voters, anywhere in Nigeria, we should send a thousand copies of this picture to him or her….” the popular social commentator and author said obviously impressed by the Ikire campaign photos.

“….These people are not fake. They are not a bought crowd, as some of the Nigerians, who believe that everything is for sale in Nigeria would aver. They are active democratic citizens.” Fubura Tam David-West continued.

The campaign train witnessed several men and women, old and young trooping out amidst drums and dancing from neighbouring towns and villages to welcome the Governor as he acknowledged the waves and cheers from the obviously excited crowd. It was also an opportunity for the people to thank Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola for the transformation the State of Osun has witnessed in the past three and a half years since he took office.
