Need To Continue Sustained Development In Osun – Aregbesola On His Re-election Ambition
Osun State Governor, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola on Tuesday, 3rd June, 2014 said the need to rescue the state from the shackle of under development formed his desire to seek re-election in the August 9 governorship election in the state.
Governor Aregbesola, while addressing mamoth supporters at the campaign rally held at Ikire, headquarters of Irewole Local Government of the state, reiterated his administration’s commitment to the growth and progress of the state saying that the state would be better for it should he govern it for another four years.
The governor who noted that the progressives see as responsibility while for those who described as reactionaries, power was a means of enriching themselves.
According to Governor Aregbesola, the progressives and reactionaries were not equal in all ramifications assuring that his administration would not disappoint the people of the state in term of ensuring that dividends of democracy were brought to the door steps of the people especially those at the grassroots.
He said that the feat achieved by the administration will be a tip of the ice berg when compared with what would be achieved should the administration get the second term in office.
Governor Aregbesola hinted no fewer than 2,229 computer tablets have been given to students in senior secondary schools in the state apart from massive road construction being done in the Ayedaade/Irewole/Isokan Federal Constituency of the state.
He stated further that about 88 boreholes have been sunk by the government to make life more meaningful to the people of the area adding that the administration has also commenced work on the water dam in the for potable water for the people.
Speaking, the Chairman of the State Local Government Service Commission, Elder Peter Babalola, thanked the people of the state for trooping out in support of the party and appealed to them against selling their voter cards.
The first Executive Governor who recently joined APC noted, Senator Isiaka Adeleke, stated that Aregbesola has performed well and tried his best, urging the people to reciprocate the gesture by voting enmasse for the continuity of the good work he has started.
Hon. Ayo Omidiran representing the Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives assured the people of the state that there will be adequate security during and after the election.
