Osun Govt Establishes Comfort Stations
AS part of efforts to improve the health status of citizens and sustain its zero tolerance for open defecation, Osun State government has established comfort stations at the Nelson Mandela Freedom Park and Orisunbare International market in Osogbo, the state capital.
While answering questions from newsmen recently, the state Commissioner for Environment and Sanitation, Professor Olubukola Oyawoye, said the step became necessary to make life more comfortable for the citizenry.
Professor Oyawoye hinted that the initiative was aimed at complementing the efforts of the wife of the governor, Alhaja Sherifat Aregbesola.
The commissioner said the comfort stations would soon be inaugurated by Alhaja Aregbesola for public use, submitting that the ministry would engage the service of O-YES cadets for proper management of the facility.
Professor Oyawoye, who noted that the facility would give members of the public, including travellers access to toilets as well as bathrooms in strategic places in Osogbo, maintained that government would continue to promote healthy living among the citizenry.
