Iwo March 4 Continuity - 2

Leaders of the All Progressives Congress in Iwo, headquarters of Iwo Local Government Area of Osun on Thursday warned the Peoples Democratic Party against attempting to perpetrate any form of electoral fraud in any part of the state in the Saturday House of Assembly election.

Specifically, the leaders said the APC was aware of plots by some PDP stalwarts to organize for the disruption of the House of Assembly poll taking place on Saturday saying those caught for electoral manipulations would be made to face the full wrath of the law.

At the sensitization walk were the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti, newly re-elected member of the House of Representatives, Mr. Ghafar Akintayo Amere; former Special Adviser to Governor on Works, Engr, Oladepo Amuda; Director, Bureau of Communication and Strategy, Mr. Semiu Okanlawon, former Secretary to the State Government under the administration of Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Alhaji Kazeem Adio; former Assistant Chief of Staff to Governor Aregbesola, Hon. Mudathir Toogun,  House of Assembly candidate for the Iwo State constituency, Mr. Gbadebo Abdulahi, the incumbent in the House of Assembly, Hon. Ezekiel Adedibu and a host of other party stalwarts.

The chairman of the party in Iwo Local Government, Hon. Semiu Ayofe, who spoke on behalf of other leaders of the party after an eight kilometer Walk-for-continuity, said all members of the APC have been sufficiently mobilized, galvanized and educated to protect their votes and ensure the victory of the APC.

“The victory of the APC in the presidential and National Assembly election is not a fluke. It is a confirmation of the supremacy of the APC over all those other parties. We must however sound this note of warning to those who are planning to snatch ballot boxes, intimidate our members on Saturday that we have uncovered all their plans. They must be warned not to try it as the full weight of the law would be brought to deal with them.”

The walk, which took almost two hours, saw to the members and leaders dancing and singing to the admiration of many residents who trooped out to acknowledge the huge crowd of supporters that came out for the walk.
