Aregbesola To Complete All Ongoing Road Projects Before Leaving Office.
In spite of the continuous fall in revenue, Osun state governor, ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has allayed fear of residents over many ongoing road projects his administration embarked upon.
The Permanent Secretary, state Ministry of Works, Mr. Nuru Adeagbo disclosed this, after inspecting roads being constructed under Osun Rural Access and Mobility Project, O’RAMP.
Adeagbo, while briefing journalists after the inspection said Governor Aregbesola is working towards completing all projects his administration initiated, and even initiate new ones.
The Permanent Secretary, who is the chairman of the Osun Project Monitoring Committee ,OSPMC, explained that 225kilometers rural road projects in Iwo and Ilesa regions of the state were inspected.
Giving the breakdown of the projects, Adeagbo said 9 roads in Iwo, as well as 6 roads in Ilesa region were inspected, expressing satisfaction at the level of work done so far.
He lauded the governor for allowing the World Bank to partner with Osun Rural Access and Mobility Project, O’RAMP, in the development of the rural roads.
In his remarks, the coordinator for the project, Engr. Adelere Oriolowo, explained that work commenced on the roads in 2015 in rural areas across the state to enable farmers transport their farm produce without stress.
Oriolowo added that the projects, when completed will improve standard of living of the people with its Community Road Maintenance Gang through which, people living close to the projects are employed and paid for its maintenance.
