Paramilitary Holds Prayer For Peace In Osun State

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and other paramilitary Organisations in Osun State over the weekend organised a special prayer to mark the climax of the Silver Jubilee of the creation of the State.

The prayer session featured praise and worship and was held to thank and glorify God for sustaining peace across the State.
Speaking at the event, the State Commandant of the NSCDC, which is the convener of the paramilitary praise Jam, Mr Phillips Ayodele, pointed out that though there were still many challenges facing the State and the country at large, he believes there is every reason to give thanks to God.
Mr Ayodele maintained that the NSCDC had fared well in the state and would remain proactive in the discharge of its duty at all times.
“In the last one year, we’ve been able to maintain law and order to some certain extent knowing full-well that Osun is a peaceful state, so we’ve been able to attain that level of maintaining law and order with the cooperation of the people of the state,” he told reporters.
He assured residents of adequate provision of security of their lives and property provided they were law abiding.

The Civil Defence boss also promised to keep the identity of anyone who provided them with information that could enhance security and make their job easier in the state secret.
“People should change that notion of not having full confidence in security personnel because the security today is a civilised security and I assure you that no right thinking agency will disclose the source of information or person that passes the information to them because we have passed that stage.
“Security personnel should be seen as friends of the public and we are there to serve the people, so let’s work together to rid our society of bad elements,” he emphasised.
Mr Ayodele also enjoined residents to feel free to call any of the security agencies’ hotline when the necessary, promising to treat such information with utmost confidentiality.
