Ijesa Tradiional Council Endorses Governor Adeleke for Second Term

OSOGBO– 21/02/2024– Osunstate.gov.ng

Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba Dr. Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran and the Ọwa in Council have endorsed Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke for second term.

The frontline traditional ruler gave the endorsement when the Governor paid an unscheduled royal homage to the King at his palace on Wednesday.

Oba (Dr.) Aromolaran described the Governor as a man of his words who fulfilled his promise to establish a world-class university in Ilesa. According to him, Senator Adeleke has changed the narrative of Ilesa to a university town within one year of his assumption in office.

Oba Aromolaran said many politicians in the past have made empty promises of establishing a university in the town in deception just to curry electoral victory.

“We the Ijesas love the Governor so much and the whole world can attest to that,” the frontline traditional ruler noted.

“Governor, your second term is guaranteed. The people of Ijesaland will double our result in the next governorship election” Oba Aromolaran asserted.

Speaking earlier, High Chief Araoye, while welcoming the Governor to the palace of Ọwá, said the entire people of Ijesaland will forever be grateful to Senator Adeleke for making good his promise to establish the long awaited University in Ilesa, saying the institution has become fully functional all within one year of Governor Ademola Adeleke in office.

He also appreciated the Governor for appointing Ijèsà indigenes to key posts in his administration, saying this is unprecedented in the history of Ijesaland.

Responding, Senator Ademola Adeleke was full of appreciation to the Kabiesi, the Ọwa Obokun Adimula of Ijesaland and the entire ijesa for standing by him.

Senator Adeleke described the Ọwa as his father who has always been supportive of his administration.
