It is with gratitude to God Almighty and the universe that I stand before you today to reflect on the past two years of our administration.
These two years have been deeply rewarding for my team and I, as we strive to fulfil the mandate entrusted to us by the people of Osun state.
We are deeply grateful to Osun people for the opportunity to serve them.
Let me begin by expressing our profound appreciation to the good people of Osun State for their unwavering support. Your trust remains the corner stone of this administration and your feedback has been instrumental in shaping our policies and actions. This Government is truly of the people, by the people and for the people.
I am humbled and deeply grateful for the positive ratings and accolades our administration has received. These recommendations inspire us to do more. However, the glory belongs to God, whose grace and mercy sustain us daily. Indeed, it is alhamdulillah all the way.
This morning, I had the privilege of addressing the people and residents of Osun State to highlight our achievements and programmes. A comprehensive compendium of our accomplishments has been made available while a documentary showcasing our two-year journey is being shared globally. These initiatives underscores our commitment to transparency and good governance
In the last two years, we have recorded significant milestones across various sectors;
-We constructed over 150 kilometers of roads;
-We upgraded 200 primary health care centers out of 400;
-We renovated 99 schools with new learning facilities;
-We paid N47 billion pension within two years;
-We procured 31 tractors in the first phase to launch agric mechanisation;
- We innovate a model agropreneur project to boost food security and create jobs;
-We provided 332 boreholes with another 332 ongoing to address acute water shortage;
-We launched the rehabilitation of key water works through new pipes;
-We re-introduced bursary awards for Osun students;
- We implemented mining reforms to secure Osun mining assets;
-We reformed the public service for professionalism and service delivery;
-We disbursed almost Four Billion Naira to the cooperative movement for small businesses;
- We completed four abandoned projects at Osun state University;
-We made University of Ilesa a reality through take off grants, infra upgrade and accreditation of courses;
- We enrolled 29,000 retirees in state health insurance scheme;
- We launched massive infra upgrade of the state capital and key towns in the state;
- We gave Osun its first ICT policy and Digital economy agenda;
- We stopped brain drain in the health sector by improving welfare of medical workers;
-We executed over 300 local community development association projects in health, water, among others;
-We introduced the 45 days Certificate of Occupancy policy which is now operational;
- We embarked on massive tax reforms to improve ease of doing business;
- And of course, we dance to the glory of God.
My dear people of Osun state, external and internal reviews confirm our achievements. Professional assessments in terms of percentages have also rated our administration highly;
-Our administration has reduced rural Health Access gap by 40% in the last two years;
-Increased health care access to all pensioners from less than 10% to 90% within 2 years;
-Closed road infrastructure gap and deficit by 50% from 80%;
-Took Agric mechanization from 0% to 35%;
-Built digital economy policy structures from 0% to 55%;
-Built public service integrity from 25% to almost 70%;
-Expanded local content from 0% to 75%;
-Built climate agenda and actions from 0% to over 70 %;
-Raised state financial support for cooperative societies from 0% to 66%;
-Liquidated 40% of inherited salary debt;
-Paid up over 35% of inherited pension debt;
-Improved School infrastructure by over 40%; and
-Enhanced rural Infrastructure by over 40%.
Despite these strides, we acknowledge there is still much to do. Challenges remain, but we are resolute in our commitment to tackling them head-on
As we enter the second half of our tenure, we assure Osun people of timely completion of all ongoing projects across the State and initiate new ones. We will maintain our focus on both hard and soft infrastructure. I promise our people that we will not abandon any projects either started by us or inherited from the previous administration. By December, our government will unveil new elements of the five-point agenda, emphasizing soft infrastructure.
I am also pleased to announce the launch of Imole Youth Corps, providing a transitional job platform for our teaming youth. Details will be communicated by the coordinating team shortly.
I also call on each local government to make available the requested land for the Imole Agropreneur Project. I will be launching the programme at Imesi Ile next week and all local governments are encouraged to set up a public private arrangement for the running of the project in their respective areas.
On workers’ welfare, I assure you that the approved N75,000 minimum wage is sustainable. I have directed the negotiation team to expedite resolutions on any outstanding matter.
To every town and community in Osun State, I reiterate our commitment to fairness, equity ands justice. Decisions will always be guided by the principles of inclusivity and collective good of all citizens.
As we forge ahead, I appeal for your continuous support, prayers and constructive feedbacks. This government is a listening government and your insights remain invaluable in shaping our shared future.
