GOVERNOR ADELEKE CELEBRATES EX-GOVERNOR, CHIEF ADEBISI AKANDE AT 86

The Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke has rejoiced with a former Governor in the state, Chief Abdulkareem Adebisi Akande, on the auspicious occasion of his 86th birthday, celebrating his unique history in the evolution of Osun state.

Governor Adeleke praises Chief Akande for his life of service and contributions, particularly in Osun state, where he advanced its development and growth as Governor, acknowledging the long-lasting impact he made in governance as Osun Governor, notably the building of a gigantic secretariat for the state.

The Governor applauds the All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain for his sustained efforts at promoting peace and deepening democracy, noting that the Ila-born elder statesman continues to be a vanguard of ‘progressive politics’ in Osun state and beyond.

“I join family, friends and associates in rejoicing with a leader without boundaries, Chief Abdulkareem Adebisi Akande, as he clocks the age of 86 today. Chief Akandeinspires a sense of service and devotion, serving as a guide for all those who seek to make impacts in the life of the people,” Governor Adeleke noted in a congratulatory message.

“As Governor, Chief Akande initiated policies and interventions that are directed at advancing the state, contributing to the progress made so far in Osun state. Outside office, Chief Akande took up roles that focuses on entrenching democracy in Nigeria, inspiring in many, the conviction to do what is right always.”

Governor Adeleke who emphasized his deep respect for the wisdom and character that defined Chief Akande over the years, said “Baba is a treasure for us in Osun state and as one of those who cherish his humble nature and open-door approach, irrespective of partisan persuasion, I honour his life and its impact on humanity.”

“It is my prayer that Almighty Allah will bless Chief Akande with good health, sustained wisdom and strength to continue to be of service to Osun, Nigeria and humanity as a whole.”
