GOVERNOR ADELEKE MOURNS PASSING OF PIONEER UNIOSUN CMD, PROF OLATOYE OGUNBODE

The Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke has expressed heartfelt condolences to the family of Ogunbode on the passing of Professor Olatoye Ogunbode, the pioneer Chief Medical Director of the UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital, Osogbo.

Governor Adeleke paid tribute to late Prof. Ogunbode’s dedicated service to Osun state as manifested in the efforts put into the establishment of the UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital and driving sustenance, describing his loss as collosal.

While acknowledging his everlasting contributions to the medical field by expanding access to qualitative healthcare services through sustained investment in research and equipments, saying that Osun has lost one of its most illustrious citizens who lived his life in service of the people.

“My heart is filled with a lot of pain on learning of the passing of Professor Olatoye Ogunbode, the pioneer Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital, Osogbo. Prof. Ogunbode was a fine professional who spent his life in contributing to a healthy Osun state,” Governor Adeleke was quoted in a condolence message.

“With his passing, Osun state has been denied the service of one of its finest and highly disciplined physician, whose vision and dedicated service, has benefited our healthcare system in the state more than we can ever forget.

“On behalf of the Government and the people of Osun State, I express my heartfelt condolences to his family, the UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital community and everyone touched by Prof. Ogunbode’s passing.”

Governor Adeleke prays to Almighty God to grant the deceased an eternal rest and bestow him the grace of an abode in paradise. He also prays to God to grant the family left behind by the pioneer CMD of UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.
