Osun State Governor, Sen. Ademola Adeleke has said the present administration recognises the importance of the digital economy in the state and steps to position the state as a hub of innovation and technology-driven state are on.

The Governor who was represented by the commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment Oluomo Kolapo Alimi made this known at the 2023 celebration of Digital Nigeria Day(DND).

The Governor described the digital economy is one of the fastest growing sectors in the world which drives growth and development across many nations of the world including Nigeria.

He states further that the digital economy has the potential to create jobs, enhance innovation, and provide access to a range of services in ways that were previously unimaginable.

Governor Adeleke explained that the aim of his government is to ensure that every Osun indigent, regardless of their background, has the opportunity to be a part of the digital revolution.

In an address, Chairman House Committee on Science and Technology, Hon. Adewumi Adeyemi, applauded the ingenuity of the organisers of the programme geared towards embracing ICT as a powerful tool in addressing global challenges and economic growth.

The parliamentarian advised the students in attendance to make judicious use of the training by being resolute to be problem solvers through Science, Innovation and Technology for the benefit of all.
