Aregbesola Inaugurates Factory To Produce School Uniforms

Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola has inaugurated  a garment factory which will produce uniforms of school pupils in the state.
According to a statement made available to our correspondent in Osogbo, the state capital, on Thursday, the governor while speaking at the inauguration of the Omoluabi Garment Factory said the factory would employ 3000 tailors at full capacity and about 50,000 uniforms would be produced daily.
He said the uniform materials would be sold and sewn at control prices in order to make it affordable for the people, even as he  assured that the factory would produce quality materials.

Osun Records Another Huge Success, Receives UN Supports For Nine Cities’ Urban Renewal
The State of Osun has recorded another huge success in its development efforts by strengthening its partnership with the United Nation Habitat (UN-HABITAT) in the areas of Cities Prosperity Initiative, Urban Info and Local Urban Observatory Programmes.
This is sequel to the collaboration of the State Government of Osun with the UN-HABITAT for the preparation of Structured Plan for the nine (9) cities identified for the Urban Renewal Project by the Rauf Aregbesola government.
The collaboration was arrived at on Wednesday in a bilateral meeting held with the Osun delegation at the Governing Council 24th meeting at the UN-HABITAT Headquarters, Nairobi, Kenya.

Osun Declares Public Holiday For Traditionalists…
Government of the State of Osun has declared today (Tuesday August 20, 2013) as a public holiday in celebration of world traditional religion Isese Day.
According to the commissioner, Governor Rauf Aregbesola declared the public holiday in the spirit of equality among the various religious groups in the state.
Isese day, among the traditional believers, is the celebration of the peak of festivity in Yorubaland tagged Odun Nla, hence were given the right to celebrate with members of their family.

Aregbesola Swears In First Female Judge For Osun

 
“Justice is a value that is universally desirable but the rule of law is of vital importance in bringing it about. This underscores the invaluable role of the Judiciary as the champion of the rule of law, as well as the arbiter of justice.”
 
These were the words of the Governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, while delivering an address titled “In furtherance of Justice and the rule of law” at the swearing-in ceremony of Justice Oyebola Adepele Ojo as the Chief Judge of the State of Osun in Osogbo yesterday.

This simply means that if we don’t choose to change things for the better, they will naturally tend to get worse. Thus a stitch in time will save 9 and that is the summary of the vision that we see at work in the State of Osun and do take this moment to applaud the NEW DAWN.
Every investment in the physical and social infrastructure is an advance for sustainable development. This is why serious governments at every stage of economic history find the money to put into infrastructural development.The key here is the deferment of immediate gratification which is essential. For this reason it is very commendable that the state of Osun with its paltry allocation from the centre can invest so much in infrastructure particularly roads.

Aregbesola Opens Investment Talks With American Investors

Governor Rauf Aregbesola of the state of Osun on Wednesday received about 20 investors from the United States of America (USA) looking for investment opportunities and partnership in Osogbo, the state capital.
Aregbesola, who maintained that the government is committed to providing huge human and material resources to enable a business friendly environment, noted that the move is aimed at improving the socioeconomic value of the state.
The visitors took advantage of the ongoing Osun Trade, Investment and Culture Conference to make their intentions known to the governor.

Why I Sent Osun Medical Students To Ukraine – Aregbesola

The governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has said that the decision to send stranded medical students of Osun State University, UNIOSUN, to a foreign university to complete their medical studies was borne out of the conviction of his administration that no sacrifice would be too much to secure better future for the students.
The governor stated this while receiving the report of the Committee on Transfer of UNIOSUN medical students to Ukraine. Last year, Aregbesola’s government sponsored 87 medical students of UNIOSUN to V.N Karazin Kharkvin National University in Ukraine, to complete their medical programme.
