*Governor Adeleke Revives Chief Bola Ige Abandoned Legacy In Osun*

NEWS RELEASE

OSOGBO– 09/02/2024– Osunstate.gov.ng

It was a surreal moment yesterday in Iwo as the transmitters and digital equipment procured by Governor Ademola Adeleke administration for OSBC conglomerates in the state arrived in the ancient town.

The arrival of the equipments for Reality Radiovision Service in Iwo was met with ecstasy and funfair from the people of Iwo community which had the PDP Chairman in Iwo who doubles as the Chairman LGEA Board for the local government, Hon Tiamiyu Alidu Adeoye, commending the Governor for reviving the legacy of Chief Bola Ige established in 1979 when he was the Governor of Old Oyo State.

“For the past 12years this facility has been abandoned and left to continually deteriorate by previous administrations in the state but I feel highly excited that just within the very first year of Governor Ademola Adeleke administration, the revival of this big establishment and Legacy of Baba Bola Ige is taking effect.

“When the Governor was in Iwo last year for the flag-off of the Imole Free Medical Outreach, he visited this facility and made a promise that the station will be revived and made to fulfil the objective of its establishment by Chief Bola Ige. We never thought the fulfillment of his promise will be this quick but here we’re today celebrating the fulfillment of Governor Ademola Adeleke promise for us in Iwoland.

“Though I have a mixed feelings about this good development, and it is that Iwo has been consistently voting APC for the past 12years, yet, this facility and legacy of Chief Bola Ige has been neglected by the party who called themselves the Progressives. However, it is now a Progressive minded person and Iwo loving Governor that has taken the initiative to revive this station that was neglected by those who call themselves the Progressive party. Then it begs the question of who deserves the term or should be called a real Progressives?” Alhaji Alidu queried.

He further said, “Iwo is immensely grateful to the Governor for this feat. I want to also commend the Spokesperson to the Governor, Mallam Olawale Rasheed who is one of our sons and ambassador in Governor Ademola Adeleke administration for being a good catalyst and advocate for the revival of this station. We pray that God continues to grant him more strength in the discharge of his duties for the state and responsibility for our community.”

A community leader, High Chief Baruwa who represented the IBOT Chairman, Prof Lai Olurode at the short ceremony thank the Governor on behalf of the community for deeming it fit to revive the station after a long years of neglect and abandonment

“We appreciate the Governor for not forgetting Iwo in his scheme of things. We’re grateful for the administration in the state for ensuring the Legacy of Chief Bola Ige is not left to rot away.

“On behalf of the Iwo community stakeholders led by the Iwo Board of Trustees (IBOT), we want to assure him of our unfettered support for the success of his administration even though as an Oliver twist, we still plead for more development for our community from the Governor.”

Corroborating the IBOT Chairman, another community leader and secretary of Iwo Action Council (IWAC), Alhaji Fatai Adeleke thanked the Governor for his commitment to the progress of the town while assuring him of adequate security for the facility as its installation begins.

The OSBC Board Chairman, Engr Mayowa Oloso who supervised the dispatch of the equipments from Osogbo to Iwo, commended the Governor for keeping to his word of giving a facelift to the broadcasting stations in the state and assured the Governor and the public of excellence delivery of service from the stations benefitting from the Governor’s benevolence while affirming the installation of the equipments for the stations in Iwo, Ife and Osogbo will be completed in the shortest possible time.

The Chairman of Iwo local government, Hon Moshood Irorun, the SSA to the Governor, Alhaji Taofeek Amobi, Iwo local government exco members, party leaders, and others were among the political functionaries that witnessed the event.
