Governor Adeleke Celebrates Ebenezer Obey at 82

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has described Professor Evangelist Ebenezer Obey Fabiyi as a living legend who deserves to be celebrated for the millions of lives he touched through his evergreen and morally rich music.
The Governor stated this while speaking at the 82nd birthday celebration of the Musical Legend held at the DECROSS Gospel mission in Lagos.
Senator Adeleke mesmerized the celebrant and the entire congregation by singing some of the songs of the living legend to appreciate the popular singer who is now in the service of the Lord.
The Governor thanked family members and the congregation that stood by the 82 year old Legend and prayed that God would grant him a long life with sound health.
Governor Adeleke who was accompanied by Aree Dele Momodu and other officials said “Baba is a legend and he deserves all the honour today and all the time”, Mr Governor noted.
In his words of appreciation, Professor Obey who read from Psalm 92 verses 1-4 gave thanks to God for His kindness and faithfulness upon his life and those of his family members.
The Chief Commander as he was popularly known appreciated the Governor of Osun State for the surprise visit and celebration.
He called on Nigerians to always remember to pray for the Nigerian Government and Nigerians
Chief Obey told the story of how he became a professional musician at the young age of 15 in the year 1957.
He thanked God that he has received so much from God starting with nothing and reaching the Pinnacle of his career.
The 82 year old Legend recalled how he rose to become the head of Deca Records label despite overtures by so many record label companies to lure him away from the record label that signed him as an artist.
He specifically thanked God for making him overcome several ailments that caused him to undergo several surgeries including a prostate enlargement operation which he said he was releasing an album on soon.
