Osun Government Delegation at Collision 2024 Canada Advances Strategic Collaborations.

The ties between Osun State Government and the Canadian government was further strengthened as Osun State Government was well represented at the just concluded Collision 2024 that took place in Toronto Canada.

Collision is North America’s fastest-growing tech conference, bringing together Fortune 500 companies, groundbreaking startups and world-class speakers.

This engagement marked a significant step towards strengthening the bilateral relationship between Osun State and the Canadian government, focusing on leveraging Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to drive development across key sectors.

The delegation included Chairman, Osun House of Assembly Committee on ICT, Honourable Adewunmi Irekandun; Special Adviser to the Governor on ICT, Honourable Azeez Badmus; Special Adviser to the Governor on SDG, Honourable Bamikole Omishore and Honourable Bamiyo Akinlosotu.

Commenting on the conference, Governor Ademola Adeleke said, “The Collision 2024 Canada conference provided an invaluable platform for Osun State to forge strategic partnerships and explore innovative solutions that will drive our state’s development. Our engagements here have laid the foundation for significant advancements in health, agriculture, education, and more. We are committed to leveraging these opportunities to enhance the quality of life for our citizens.”

The Governor also noted that the Osun State delegation’s participation in Collision 2024 Canada underscores the state’s commitment to embracing technology and innovation to achieve sustainable development adding that the outcomes of these collaborations are expected to have a lasting positive impact on the state’s economy and societal well-being.

KEY HIGHLIGHTS

  1. Health Sector Innovation: Osun State initiated a groundbreaking collaboration to digitalize the health sector. The project aims to utilize Artificial Intelligence (AI) for real-time data collection and assessment, enhancing proactive decision-making processes. Discussions included the integration of this solution with the state’s existing e-health ERP system, ensuring data protection, and creating sustainability through legislative measures.
  2. Agricultural Development: Osun State is poised to revolutionize its beef supply chains by connecting small-scale farmers to high-revenue sales opportunities through advanced technology. The focus is on using AI to manage livestock and bridge the gap between farmers, veterinary doctors, and buyers. This collaboration aims to promote ranching and dairy production, with an expected boost in local beef production by 60%, significantly driving economic growth.
  3. Strengthening Legislative Relations: The delegation visited the Legislative Assembly of Ontario. A meeting with Honorable Trevor Jones emphasized the importance of exchange programs and legislative partnerships between Osun State and Ontario Province. This initiative aims to foster knowledge exchange and collaborative governance practices and policies.
  4. Investment Opportunities: Engaging with Preponderant Advisory, the delegation explored investment opportunities across various sectors, including education, agriculture, mining, legislation, and ICT. The discussions focused on how advisory services could support the transformation of these sectors and introduce potential partners and investors to Osun State.
  5. Educational and Entrepreneurial Empowerment: We are in talk with The DMZ to establish incubation centers at Osun State University. These centers will nurture innovation and entrepreneurship among students, fostering a culture of technological advancement and economic growth.
