Governor Ademola Adeleke has declared that Osun State has a CNG conversion and adoption initiative under implementation for the past eight months, informing that Imole buses are to be converted to the Compressed Natural Gas model.

The Governor noted that the state has been in a public private partnership talks with three companies including a local CNG firm which has gone far in the implementation process.
According to the Governor, the Imole buses currently plying Osun roads for palliative transport service will soon be converted to the CNG model while Osun is also billed to benefit from federal initiative on the CNG adoption.
The plan also includes dedicated charging points as well as PPP acquisition of CNG powered buses to expand the transport palliative in operation across the state.
He said the Ministry of Energy and Transport have been working relentlessly to ensure the initiative comes on stream despite the complicated technical requirements.
“ As a government, we are very pro- active. That is why we give Osun its first ICT and Tech Innovation Policies. That is why the state’s Electricity Market bill is now ready for legislative action. The CNG option is part of the incoming state energy policy.
“Ours is not an analog government that did nothing to implement digital economy agenda, tech innovation plan and energy market system in Osun State. We are digital driven with a full plan to adopt modern innovations and alternative power sources to power our agro-industrialisation plan for the state”, the Governor was quoted as saying.
