Osun Govt Assures Professional Bodies Of Partnership
Osun State government has reiterated that it will continue to partner with recognised professional bodies whose activities are geared towards developing workers’ competence.
The State Head of Service, Mr Olayinka Owoeye, gave the assurance in his office while receiving the executive members of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria that paid him courtesy visit.
While explaining that the scope of public service covers the entire gamut of the society, Owoeye asserted that no officer in the state can go far in his career without consciously embarking on continuous competence development.
The Head of Service emphasised the place of learning and re- learning to enable public servants grapple with the challenges of modern day governance.
He then lauded Governor Aregbesola for his penchant in rewarding merit and for putting necessary blue print to make excellent performance possible.
Also, Acting Registrar of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria, Dr, Charles Ugwu, had sought the support of the Head of Service in the quest to get the institute certification enlisted in the National Scheme of Service like ICAN and ANAN.
Ugwu then expressed delight that the state is one of the few in the federation that has established Ministry of Human Resources to boost the capacity of its workers.

Owoeye gave the charge in Osogbo while declaring open a three-day workshop for Pension Desk Officers under the New Contributory Pension Scheme.
