Governor Ademola Adeleke is extremely pleased to rejoice with four legal practitioners of Osun state extraction who were conferred with the prestigious title of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) , describing their elevation as a thing of pride and joy for the state.

In a congratulatory message signed by his Spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, Governor Adeleke extolled Messrs Kazeem Adekunle Sobaloju, Bamidele Olawoye, Adedayo Samuel Adedeji and Yemi Adewale Mu’sbaudeen Adesina as exceptional professionals who have distinguished themselves in the legal field, noting that their promotion to the SAN title is a true reflection of their capacities.

While attributing their achievements to hard-work, perseverance and unwavering commitment to excellence, the Governor said their progress have not only reflected positively on the state, but also serves as a source of inspiration to young people that excellence will not go unrewarded.

“It is with great joy that I welcome the elevation of Messrs Kazeem Adekunle Sobaloju, Bamidele Olawoye, Adedayo Samuel Adedeji and Yemi Adewale Mu’sbaudeen Adesina to the prestigious Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) rank in the country’s legal profession,” the message noted.

“With this achievement, the four of them have shown us once again that hard-work and steadfastness actually works, and on behalf of the good people of Osun State, I congratulate them on their new attainments.

“Given that their new ranks mark a great progress in the legal profession, I am counting on them to continue to represent our dear state with distinction and contribute to enriching the profession to better the society.”

Apparently satisfied and impressed by his friendly disposition and genuine concerns to their welfare since he came on board the governance of Osun state almost a year ago,the entire body of senior citizens in Osun state under the umbrella of Nigeria Union of Pensioners( NUP) has passed a vote of confidence on the Governor of Osun state, Senator Ademola Adeleke . In a unanimous decision at a programme to commemorate International Day of The Elderly ,held at St Marks Grammar School ,Osogbo on Thursday,the Pensioners,accordingly conferred the award of the most pensioner friendly governor In Osun state on Senator Ademola Adeleke. A statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, in respect of the award ,was said to have been premised on the fact that ,since Governor Adeleke mounted the mantle of leadership as the 6th democratically elected governor of Osun state, Pensioners in the state have never had it so good and rewarding the way things have turned out to be for them in the last one year. Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State is deeply shaken to learn about the demise of the Caretaker Chairman of Ede North Local Government, Alhaji Jimoh Oyekanmi.The sudden death of Alhaji Oyekanmi is devastating, not just to his family, but also Osun state, particularly Ede North Local Government, who have been denied the service of trusted hand in delivering good governance.Alhaji Jimoh was a politician with a purpose, always prioritizing the good of all above his personal interest in every situation. During the struggle for the enthronement of the Imole government, Alhaji Jimoh showed discipline and unimaginable sacrifices.Alhaji Jimoh was a long-time member of the Adeleke political dynasty, but he was much more than that to me. He was loyal to a fault and more, reliable, no matter the circumstances. Alhaji Jimoh impact on Osun politics, particularly in Ede North, where he was a strong grassroot mobilizer for our great party, the PDP, is hard to miss. The Government of Osun State and Canadian High Commission today consolidated economic partnership with a follow up bilateral talks between Governor Ademola Adeleke and the Canadian top diplomats in Lagos.

The Canadian High Commissioner, James Christoff had led his team at High Commission to Osun state five weeks ago during which sectoral teams of the Osun state government made presentations on potential partnership and collaboration between the state and Canada.

Today in Lagos, Governor Ademola Adeleke led his team which comprises of Hon Teslim Igbalaye, Secretary to the State Government; Rev. Bunmi Jenyo, Commissioner for Commerce and Industry; and Bamikole Omishore, Special Adviser on Sustainable Development Goals and Multilateral Relations.

Governor Adeleke said his visit was designed to reinforce conclusions reached during the High Commissioner’s visit to Osun State and to brainstorm on his upcoming trip to Canada to meet Canadian sectoral investors.

“Today, I had the honor of visiting the Canadian High Commission in Lagos to discuss shared interests and my upcoming trip to Canada, where I plan to engage with investors, development partners, and Osun State natives residing in Canada”, the Governor explained after the closed door meeting.

The Governor reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to fostering a conducive environment for businesses to thrive in Osun, sharing with the diplomats the remarkable progress he has made in just 10 months, including plugging revenue leakages, maintaining transparency, and involving our citizens in the decision-making process.

“I also highlighted Osun’s strategic location in the Southwest, which facilitates the movement of agricultural produce”, the Governor was quoted as saying, adding that “our plans for a cargo airport, the presence of a sub-power station that will be a major benefit to be a manufacturing hub with the right investments, a free trade zone, and an economic zone.

“I assured the High Commissioner of our dedication to providing investors with a secure and supportive atmosphere for their ventures to flourish”, the Governor noted.

The delegation was received by the High Commissioner James Christoff, Deputy C.J. Scott, and their team in the trade and political section.

The High Commissioner reiterated his earlier assurance of the Canadian government to deepen economic partnership with subnational entities across Nigeria and Africa.

Osun state government under the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke is set to enact modalities to give six months maternity leave for nursing mothers in government workplaces.

This was made known today by the Special Adviser on Public Health to the Executive Governor of Osun State, Dr Akindele Adekunle at the one day symposium on celebrating enabling breastfeeding environment for working mothers held at the local government service commission, Abeere.

Dr Akindele stated that in line with the W.H.O recommendations and in concerted effort with the Wives of Nigerian Governor’s Forum advocacy for approval of six months paid maternity leave for nursing mothers, Governor Adeleke is set to send a bill to the House of Assembly and domesticate enabling laws to this effect.

” I’m happy to inform all our nursing mothers in our different offices that as a listening and people loving Governor, His Excellency Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke has promised to send a bill to the House of Assembly to enact enabling laws to make maternity leave six months for nursing mothers in a bid to allow them to be able to tend to their babies and encourage them to breastfeed their babies exclusively for six months as recommended by the W.H.O”

” But i will plead and advise this gathering and the entire public that whenever there’s any public hearing by the House of Assembly concerning the bill, all stakeholders must raise their voice in support of the bill.”

Dr Akindele further assured of the governor’s readiness to carry out a face-lift of the primary and secondary health facilities across the length and breath of Osun State.

” Let me also state that, in the effort of the current administration to ensure profound infrastructural face-lift across the length and breath of the state and the committment of Governor Ademola Adeleke to revamp the health sector, our government will soon commence the infrastructural face lift of our primary and secondary health care facilities across the 30 local government and area councils and this, is in addition to other robust health palliatives already being planned for the good people of Osun State by the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke.”

Dr Akindele applauds all the development partners for their efforts in supporting various health initiatives in the state and equally appreciated the office of the wife of the Governor for her concerns for the health of the state and the role she’s playing that Osun comes first in the comity of states when it comes to health matters.

The Wife of the Governor who doubles as N.E.T Ambassador, Chief Mrs Titilola Adeleke also affirmed her readiness to advocate and work with relevant stakeholders to ensure the realisation of the agenda.

The Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke has called on Nigerians to pray for the continuous peace and prosperity of the country.

The Governor stated this in his message to the people of Osun State and Nigeria to commemorate the 2023 Independence Day celebration.

Governor Adeleke while acknowledging the unfavorable prevailing economic and security situation across the country urged all political, religious, traditional and business leaders to unite purposely to find lasting solutions in line with the vision of the past heroes who fought hard for national independence.

“We are currently in a difficult situation; the precarious economic situation is affecting everyone. This is our reality and we must face it. As leaders, we must collaborate to find lasting solutions irrespective of our cultural, religious, political and social affiliations. We must also seek for divine intervention from God, I believe in prayer so I will always urge us to continue to pray”

“We must look back to find the purpose behind the vision of our founding fathers who fought for our independence. The leaders must be committed to the progress of our society and the followers must be responsible to hold the leaders accountable. We must all play our roles for the sake of prosperity.
