Governor Ademola Adeleke is extremely pleased to rejoice with four legal practitioners of Osun state extraction who were conferred with the prestigious title of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) , describing their elevation as a thing of pride and joy for the state.

In a congratulatory message signed by his Spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, Governor Adeleke extolled Messrs Kazeem Adekunle Sobaloju, Bamidele Olawoye, Adedayo Samuel Adedeji and Yemi Adewale Mu’sbaudeen Adesina as exceptional professionals who have distinguished themselves in the legal field, noting that their promotion to the SAN title is a true reflection of their capacities.

While attributing their achievements to hard-work, perseverance and unwavering commitment to excellence, the Governor said their progress have not only reflected positively on the state, but also serves as a source of inspiration to young people that excellence will not go unrewarded.

“It is with great joy that I welcome the elevation of Messrs Kazeem Adekunle Sobaloju, Bamidele Olawoye, Adedayo Samuel Adedeji and Yemi Adewale Mu’sbaudeen Adesina to the prestigious Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) rank in the country’s legal profession,” the message noted.

“With this achievement, the four of them have shown us once again that hard-work and steadfastness actually works, and on behalf of the good people of Osun State, I congratulate them on their new attainments.

“Given that their new ranks mark a great progress in the legal profession, I am counting on them to continue to represent our dear state with distinction and contribute to enriching the profession to better the society.”

The Olu of Igboora in Oyo state, Oba Jimoh Olajide Titiloye has conferred the chieftaincy title of Aare Asoludero of Igboora on Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke.

The monarch announced the conferment of the award on Governor Adeleke during the ongoing annual Ibeji Festival.

Oba Jimoh Olajide Titiloye who said the the entry of Senator Adeleke into Igboora signalled the entry of light into the ancient town expressed belief that darkness has vanished in the town with the Governor’s triumphant entry into Igboora.

Earlier, the monarch had installed Dr. Amos Adepoju and his wife, Mrs. Elfrida Adepoju, parents of Mr. Kunle Adepoju who is the Personal Assistant to Governor Adeleke on General Services, as Asiwaju and Yeye Asiwaju of Igboora.

In his remarks, Governor Adeleke appreciated the Olu of Igboora, Oba Jimoh Asoorolu Titiloye for his passionate drive towards entrenching communal peace and development in his domain.

Senator Adeleke described traditional rulers as custodians of Yoruba culture and tradition whose role in peace and nation-building cannot be quantified.

Senator Adeleke appreciated the monarch for the honour done him promising that the award of chieftaincy title will further spur him to do more for the benefit of mankind.

Ibeji Festival is an annual traditional festival celebrated in Igboora to commemorate the global acknowledgement of Igboora as the headquarters of Twins worldwide.

Governor Adeleke equally commended the duo of Dr. Amos and Mrs. Elfrida Adepoju for their investments in human and community developments which he said has earned them recognition from their birthplace.

He therefore assured the gathering that his administration will not rest on its oars in ensuring that infrastructural development spread across the nooks and crannies of Osun State.

Senator Adeleke who commended his counterpart in Oyo State, engineer Seyi Makinde said they are both committed to serving the people.

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun state has praised the Nigerian military for shunning anti-democratic acts, describing democracy as a necessity for all societies.

Welcoming the Chief of Army General Taoheed Lagbaja to his country home on Thursday, Governor Adeleke condemned democratic setbacks in some parts of Africa and urged the strengthening of democratic correction mechanisms instead of coup d’etat.

He described the Nigerian military as a thorough bred professional service which uphold respect for the national constitution while serving as a protector of the democratic process as well as national stability.

The Governor who also commissioned the Civil-military school project at Alusekere, Ede
Said “the military, especially the Nigerian army, is a critical pillar of our national life. We owe the military accolades and commendation for securing and protecting the nation.

“Our existence as a nation that is united despite challenges is linked to the patriotism and sacrifice of the military. When the civil population is sharply divided , the military remains united.On many occasions, the military saved our nation from disintegration.

“Your reaching out to the civil population as a policy is a giant step to further unite the nation. I commend this civil- military rapport”, the Governor posited, adding that “the Osun State Govt enjoys a close relationship with the military establishments in the state”

Governor Adeleke further expressed his appreciation to the Chief of Army Staff for the speedy intervention during the recent Ifon -Ilobu crisis,noting “Your patriotic action is laudable. We deeply appreciate you, dear General”

Responding, the Chief of Army Staff said he was in the state in continuation of his nationwide visit to army formations in the country, noting that he was at the Governor’s residence to pay homage.

He assured the Governor of deep support for democracy and good governance, assuring that the engineering construction arm of the army is prepared to undertake projects from any willing states.

The Chief of Army Staff was accompanied by top military commanders.

During the struggle for the enthronement of the Imole government, Alhaji Jimoh showed discipline and unimaginable sacrifices.Alhaji Jimoh was a long-time member of the Adeleke political dynasty, but he was much more than that to me. Sequel to the near state of total peace and harmony being envisioned by his administration in both Ifon and Orolu communities in the wake of the recent communal clashes, Osun state governor ,Senator Ademola Adeleke,has directed that the hitherto 24-hour curfew imposed on the two warring communities be reduced to 12.

Governor Adeleke’s latest directive was anchored on the good compliance to the last week ,Saturday, Peace Agreement signed by the communities in both Orolu and Irepodun local governments to bury their hatchets and embrace a lasting peace over the communal clashes.

Governor,Adeleke ,
however,maintains and re emphasises his earlier directive of taking complete possession by his administration of the disputed lands until when the imbroglio is finally seen to have been amicably brought to an end by the natives.

Accordingly, the hitherto 24 hour curfew, from dusk to dawn,earlier in place, has now been directed by the governor to be between 6am and 6pm daily.

A statement to that effect by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, on behalf of Governor Ademola Adeleke, reads :

“That, based on the recent Peace Agreement signed by Ifon and Ilobu Communities of Orolu and Irepodun local governments respectively, the administration of Senator Ademola Adeleke is happy to state that the two communities are gradually embracing the need to engender peace and harmony , forthwith.

“Premised on this, His Excellency, Senator Ademola Adeleke, the Executive Governor of Osun state , in his capacity as the Chief Security Officer of the state, has relaxed the 24 hour curfew to 12 hours daily,beginning from 6am to 6pm with immediate alacrity.

“That the Joint Security Task Force comprising the Nigeria Army, Police and Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps and other security agents should ,however,continue their normal 24 hour surveillance of both Ifon ,Ilobu and Olokanla communities.

“That the good people of the two local governments should go about their businesses without any fear or apprehension anymore as their security are guaranteed with the eagle eyed security personnels in place .

“That,anyone or group of persons found or caught doing or instigating any act,knowingly or unknowingly, to mortgage the lasting peace being currently envisioned in the warring communities would be made to face the music,via necessary prosecution, in line with the dictate of the law of Nigeria.

“That, Governor Ademola Adeleke,for the umpteenth times, appreciates the resolve of the leadership and people of the warring communities to embrace peace.

“That, the present administration ,under the executive watch of H.E Senator Ademola Adeleke holds unity and peaceful co-existence of the people of Ifon,Ilobu and Olakanla sacrosanct just as it holds it for the entire villages, towns and cities of the state of the living string ; and

“That Osun state government, once again,sympathizes with the families of victims of the communal clashes.

The Government of Osun State and Canadian High Commission today consolidated economic partnership with a follow up bilateral talks between Governor Ademola Adeleke and the Canadian top diplomats in Lagos.

The Canadian High Commissioner, James Christoff had led his team at High Commission to Osun state five weeks ago during which sectoral teams of the Osun state government made presentations on potential partnership and collaboration between the state and Canada.

Today in Lagos, Governor Ademola Adeleke led his team which comprises of Hon Teslim Igbalaye, Secretary to the State Government; Rev. Bunmi Jenyo, Commissioner for Commerce and Industry; and Bamikole Omishore, Special Adviser on Sustainable Development Goals and Multilateral Relations.

Governor Adeleke said his visit was designed to reinforce conclusions reached during the High Commissioner’s visit to Osun State and to brainstorm on his upcoming trip to Canada to meet Canadian sectoral investors.

“Today, I had the honor of visiting the Canadian High Commission in Lagos to discuss shared interests and my upcoming trip to Canada, where I plan to engage with investors, development partners, and Osun State natives residing in Canada”, the Governor explained after the closed door meeting.

The Governor reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to fostering a conducive environment for businesses to thrive in Osun, sharing with the diplomats the remarkable progress he has made in just 10 months, including plugging revenue leakages, maintaining transparency, and involving our citizens in the decision-making process.

“I also highlighted Osun’s strategic location in the Southwest, which facilitates the movement of agricultural produce”, the Governor was quoted as saying, adding that “our plans for a cargo airport, the presence of a sub-power station that will be a major benefit to be a manufacturing hub with the right investments, a free trade zone, and an economic zone.

“I assured the High Commissioner of our dedication to providing investors with a secure and supportive atmosphere for their ventures to flourish”, the Governor noted.

The delegation was received by the High Commissioner James Christoff, Deputy C.J. Scott, and their team in the trade and political section.

The High Commissioner reiterated his earlier assurance of the Canadian government to deepen economic partnership with subnational entities across Nigeria and Africa.
