PROFILE OF AGENCY
1.1 Osun State Hospitals’ Management Board (HMB), has an enabling law, which established it. It is headed by the Chairman as political head and the Permanent Secretary as Career Head/Accounting Officer.
1.2 The Agency operates through ten (10) Departments at the Headquarters. The ten (10) Departments at the Headquarters are; Admin. & Supplies; Finance & Accounts; Medical Services; Pharmaceutical Services; Medical Laboratory Services; Physiotherapy & Medical Rehabilitation Services; Nursing Services; Health Information Management; Health Planning, Research & Statistics; and Dental Services.
1.3 For ease of health service delivery, the Agency operates Fifty-Eight (58) different Health Facilities spread across the State; State Specialist Hospital, Asubiaro; eight (8) State Hospitals viz; Ede, Ikirun, Ila-Orangun, Iwo, Ede, Ikire, Ile-Ife and Ilesa. Five (5) General Hospitals of Ejigbo, Ifetedo, Okuku, Ijebu-jesa and Ipetumodu. Thirty-Seven (37) Comprehensive Health Centres viz; Ilie, Ilobu, Ifon, Igbajo, Inisa, Otan-Ayegbaju, Oyan, Oke-Ayepe, Oke-Ila, Ora, Iragbiji, Iree, Iresi, Oba-Ile, Awo, Ile-Ogbo, Iragberi, Kuta, Odeomu, Ogbaagba, Apomu, Bode-Osi, Gbongan, Ibokun, Ifewara, Ijeda, Ikeji-ile, Iloko, Iperindo, Iwara, Modakeke, Osu, Alaka, Arubiewe, Edunabon, Esa-Oke, Garage-Olode; Five (5) Clinics and 2 Dental Centres at Asubiaro and Ilesa.

Physiotherapy & Medical rehabilitation Services

DEPARTMENT OF PHYSIOTHERAPY AND MEDICAL REHABILITATION SERVICES , HOSPITALS MANAGEMENT BOARD.

The Department of physiotherapy and medical rehabilitation services is to ensure adequate and effective treatment of pain , restoration and improvement of movement , Rehabilitation of impairment or physical disabilities for optimal obtainable function for the residents of Osun state.
THE DEPARTMENT OPERATES IN THREE (3) UNITS:
1. Physiotherapy Services
2. Occupational therapy unit.
3. Rehabilitation Appliance unit.
PHYSIOTHERAPY: Physiotherapy services are currently operating in six (6) health facilities across the state. The facilities are: state specialist hospital, Asubiaro, state Hospital, Iwo, Ikire, Ede, Ikirun and Ila oragun. Physiotherapy services covered wider facilities in the time past than the current coverage. The reduction in the coverage due to resignation of some physiotherapist for the greener pasture job and retirement from active service. The facilities that were closed due to shortage of personnel are; state hospital, ilesa, Ife, general hosipal, ijebu ijesa, compressive health center; Otan ayegbaju, modakeke, sport stadium.

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY; THIS unit stated in 2014 through a corps occupational the therapist with the approval of the Permanent secretary.
The occupational therapy services the rehabilitation services the department. Only of a recent have based in the state specialist hospital, Asubiaro.

REHABILITICSTATION APPLIANCE UNIT ; The unit is concerned with fabrication repair and service of orthoses and prostheses (supportive devices) for the rehabilitation of physically challenged client under the control and supervision of physiotherapist. The unit operate in state Specialist Hospital, Asubiaro. General.

HEALTH PLANNING RESEARCH
Health Planning Research and Statistics, acts as an agent through which information and other Directive are collected from the Ministry of Economic Planning, Budget and Development as well as other related Agencies
Liaise with the State Ministry of Health, Works, Transport, and other Agencies, involved in the development of HMB capital project;
Collaborate with the ministry of health in the area health sector planning activities.
Coordination the activities of UNICEF and other Development partners in the health sectors as relates to Hospital Management Board
Collates Process and Discrimination health data md planning as they relate to the board to ease decision making
Collaborate with public procurement of equipment to all board health care facilities in the state.

DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT

Health information manpower planning and Development through organization of Seminars/workshops and re-orientation training programs for staff of the department.
1. Answering requests from any agencies on matter relating to health records service/ activities in the state.
2. Participate in the formulation of policies on matter relating to health record/ information practices /activities in the state.
3. Participate in the preparation and presentation of department budget.
4. Participate in the monitoring and evaluation of National Health Information Management scheme programs being implemented in the state.
5. Coordinates Hospital statical Returns.
6. Participate in staff Recruitment, promotion and Discipline.
7. Advise Government on matter relating to health Records/Information Management practices/activities in the state.

Management has the following objectives: -Execute general health policies approved by Government through its Secondary Health-care outlets; Recruit, promote, transfer and discipline all grades of Medical Officers and Health personnel under the Agency in collaboration with other relevant Personnel Agencies of the Government; -Manage and control all State-owned Secondary Health Facilities; -Procure, protect and maintain Medical Equipment so as to constantly upgrade services in State-owned Health Institutions; -Provide the best possible quality Curative Medical Services; -Initiate and conduct programmes of Preventive Services that will promote good state of health; -Recommend ways and means of increasing the revenue of the Board; -Ensure equitable distribution and judicious use of drugs; -Provide for the employees a conducive work environment for maximum output of service to the citizens; -Make recommendations when necessary on matters relating to External Aid for any of its functions in conformity with Government policy; -Ensure adequate supervision of Health Care Delivery at all times; and -Constantly maintain infrastructural facilities, environment, electricity, water, buildings in our State-owned Facilities to facilitate effective Health-care delivery services.

To maintain a sustainable partnership of all stakeholders (parents, communities, policy makers, and other interested parties) and ensure provision of a daily free meal and preventive health services for all school children, as well as boosting domestic food production in the Osun State.
