The Spokesperson to the Osun State Governor, Mallam Olawale Rasheed has asked a former Deputy Governor in the state, Benedict Alabi, to bury his head in shame over his misguided notion on the performance of Governor Ademola Adeleke, saying that Alabi’s attempt to misrepresent the reality of things in Osun stems from his sense of guilt as number two man in a failed administration.

Governor Ademola Adeleke has reaffirmed the pledge of his administration to upgrade Senior Secondary education in Osun State to enhance foundation for university education.
The Governor made the pledge at the Government House while hosting the Executive Secretary of the Senior Secondary Education Commission, Dr Iyela Ajayi and his team who were in the state to select a model school for rehabilitation and upgrade.
While describing Osun as a state that places a high premium on all round education from lower level to the tertiary stage, the Governor said
“We are a government that believes strongly in education as a potent catalyst for state development.
“Our government therefore believes in providing a conducive environment for students and teachers to achieve learning goals. The target is to produce all rounded citizens with a sound mind.
“To achieve those lofty ideals, our government devoted precious attention to upgrading learning facilities at primary, secondary and tertiary levels. With two state universities, two polytechnics and several private and federal higher institutions, we ensure no area is lacking in terms of requisite support”, Governor Adeleke noted.
He told the delegation that Osun state is already working to domesticate the secondary education board law, adding that the state is poised to partner deeply with the national Commission.
“ I call for a deeper partnership between Osun and your commission. Before the end of this month, Osun state will domesticate the law for the establishment of a Senior Secondary education board . This is already at the third reading at the State Assembly.
He stated that the state is rebuilding almost all schools, expanding her pool of teachers by over five thousand; and sustaining the school feeding programme out of the 36 states.
Speaking earlier, the Executive Secretary, Dr Iyela Ajayi commended Governor Adeleke’s delivery on education and other sectors of the state, informing that his team has visited some schools in the state and is impressed with the positive development across the state.
He expressed happiness at the embrace of the domestication request by the state government, calling a state law for senior Secondary school development as a condition for partnering with the national commission.
“I commend Your Excellency for the good job you are doing in the state. We have gone round and our commission is eager to be part of good news happening to Osun people”, the Executive Secretary accompanied by his top officials noted.

Osun State Government has commenced the distribution of rice palliative under the State Government Food Security Program. An initiative aimed at alleviating food scarcity and ensuring food security is being carried out through the state’s Ministry of Agriculture.
The distribution targets a wide array of registered groups, ensuring that the palliative reaches diverse segments of the population. Among the beneficiaries are Labour Unions, the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Civil Society Organizations, the Union of Pensioners, various Security Outfits, Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), Religious Associations, Market Unions, and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), among other registered associations.
Governor Ademola Adeleke was represented at the commencement site by his Special Adviser on Agriculture, OSSADEP, and OSSADEC, Hon. Olaniran Akanfe Atidade, who emphasized the importance of the program in mitigating the effects of food insecurity exacerbated by various socio-economic challenges. “This initiative shows our commitment to supporting the most vulnerable in our society,” he stated. “By ensuring that essential food items are accessible, we aim to provide relief and promote stability within our communities.”
“We have meticulously planned this distribution to ensure that all registered groups receive their fair share of the rice palliative,” Atidade explained. “Our goal is to maintain transparency and fairness throughout the process, and we are working closely with representatives from each group to facilitate smooth and efficient distribution.”
As the distribution continues, the Ministry of Agriculture called the full cooperation in order to ensure that the process is orderly and equitable. “The administration remains committed to addressing food insecurity and enhancing the welfare of its citizens through such proactive measures.”
“We urge all beneficiaries to cooperate with the process, ensuring that the aid reaches those who need it most efficiently and transparently.”
The Special Adviser also reiterated the administration’s dedication to continuing similar support programs in the future, aiming for a sustainable and inclusive approach to development and welfare. We urged all beneficiaries to make judicious use of the palliatives and assured that the government remains steadfast in its mission to improve the lives of all residents of Osun State.
