Honourable Justice Kudirat Morayo Akano hails from Iragbiji ,in Boripe Local Government of Osun State. She obtained her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from University of Benin in the year1987 and proceeded to the Nigerian Law School, Lagos where she obtained her Barrister
Honourable Justice Kudirat Morayo Akano hails from Iragbiji ,in Boripe Local Government of Osun State. She obtained her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from University of Benin in the year1987 and proceeded to the Nigerian Law School, Lagos where she obtained her Barrister at Law certificate in 1988.She started her legal work experience in the Legal Department of the then Bendel State Police Command between1988 and 1989. She thereafter worked with A. B. Thomas & Co., in Benin City (1989 – 1993) and Ministry of Justice, Edo State (1993 –1996). Hon. Justice Akano decided to venture out on her own and she established her law firm in the city of Benin – K. M. Akano & Co. which she managed from 1996 to 1999 before moving out to Osun State. She started her legal career in the State at the Ministry of Justice, Osun State as Principal State Counsel in March 1999. She rose through the ranks to become the Solicitor-General and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry on July 4th 2007, a post she held until her elevation to the High Court Bench of Osun State as judge on 4th July, 2011.His Lordship was a member of the Nigerian Bar Association, Osogbo Branch, Federacion Intenationale De Abogadas (FIDA)and Muslim Lawyers Association of Nigeria (MULAN) Osogbo Branch. At present, she is a member of National Association of Women Judges in Nigeria, International Association of Women Judges, Federation of Muslim Women Associations in Nigeria (FOMWAN) Osun State Branch, NASFAT- Nasrul-lahi-l-Fatih Society, Osogbo Branch, MUSWEN- Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria. His lordship has attended numerous Conferences within Nigeria and abroad ranging from annual NBA conferences to professional and continuing education seminars of the National Judicial Institute, Abuja as well as leadership trainings.
She has served in various capacities through her years of public service. She was:
- Secretary of the Advisory Council of Prerogative of Mercy.
- Member of the Committee on the Review of the Old Oyo State Government Revised Financial Regulations 1978 as adopted in Osun State.
- Member, Water Supply & Sanitation Sector Reform Programmes Committee.
- Member, Osun State Programme Policy Advisory Committee on Unicef Assisted Programmes.
- Member, SEEDS Implementation Committee in Osun State.
- Member, sub-committee on the listing Assets and Liabilities of LAUTECH, Ogbomoso and LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, Osogbo.
- Member, ad-hoc committee on Internally Generated Revenue Improvement in the State.
- Member, Commission of Enquiry into Students Crisis of 5thAugust, 1999 in the State.
- Member, Committee on the codification of Bye Laws in Osun State. Member, Electoral Reform Committee of Osun State. Secretary, Committee on Welfare of Hon. Judges .She also carried out special judicial assignments including:
- Member II, Election Petition Tribunal, National & State Assemblies, Ondo State, 2019.
- Chairman, Judicial Commission on Assets & Liabilities sharing Committee for Newly created Local Council Development Areas, Area Councils & Administrative Offices,
- She is a recipient of a letter of commendation from Hon. JusticeZ. A. Bulkachuwa, CFR, The Hon. President, Court of Appeal, for her Commendable Role in the 2019 Election Tribunal Exercise.
His Lordship is a recipient of several awards including: - Rotary Club Osogbo R. I. District 9125, Nig. – Award of Excellency 16th July, 2011.

Her hobbies are Reading and Listening to Music.
